TV :Every household that has a television set must by law be in possession of a current TV licence. The licence (€160 /year) can be paid at the post office, or by phone with a credit card 1 890 228 528. TV subscriptions are often linked in a bundle package with telephone and internet services.

Telephone/Internet – In order to shorten waiting time it is important to get your basic line set up as soon as you know where you will live! From this basic line you can choose which provider you want. The best way to choose your provider (something to research BEFORE coming) is to go to:
www.askcomreg.ie - a consumer website set up to help see clearly through the numerous communication service provider plans. They have fabulous tools for calculating your costs and comparing offers! An invaluable website.
www.eircom.net - Ireland's telephone company. You must have an eircom line before you shop around for phone service providers. They also provide telephone directories with listings for everything from personal numbers, business numbers, maps, to tourist information and bus routes. These books are usually delivered to your home in the autumn.
www.btireland.ie - offers a full suite of services to consumers, from home phone and internet access, to WiFi and high-speed broadband.
www.upc.ie - tv, broadband, and phone service.
Newspapers – The two main papers in Ireland are the Irish Times - www.ireland.com and The Independent - www.independent.ie. French papers can be found at Easons bookstores (www.eason.ie)

French News on Radio – from 8-9am NearFM 90.3 radio receives Radio France Internationale via satellite or if you have Longwave radio you can get France Inter at 162.
