Every educational establishment must take on the three main objectives of National Education:
TO WELCOME, TO EDUCATE, TO TRAIN
The educational project of our school is based on these three objectives, and we take our direction from them:
TO WELCOME
The Lycée français d’Irlande welcomes not just French children, but also other nationalities drawn by the teaching we offer from kindergarten to sixth year. As a European school, each year LFI takes in guest pupils from a range of European countries who come for one or two years to enrich their curriculum. Our constant concern is to welcome each child with his or her culture and history. In this way we encourage the children’s development: they have the space to find their own path for the future with the help of all the tools necessary to succeed.
TO EDUCATE
The most important role of an educational establishment is clearly to offer high quality teaching. Based on the official French programme, LFI goes further and offers a bilingual education from kindergarten to senior cycle: early English teaching in kindergarten, the partnership with St. Kilian’s for the Eurocampus project leading to double qualifications (Diplôme national du Brevet and Junior Certificate), the opening of the European Section and the American International Section in senior cycle. This constant pursuit of excellence allows us to obtain exam results well above the national averages.
TO TRAIN
The third objective of an educational establishment is to train the citizens of tomorrow. The school’s educational project is dedicated to this objective. It undertakes to respect ideas and individuals and to guarantee to everyone the right to freedom of expression without exception. Thanks to cooperation and mutual respect we succeed in creating an educational community which brings together the pupils, their parents and all the personnel of the school.
Our objective is achieved when at the end of sixth year, our pupils leave us with regret, but fully prepared intellectually to take up the challenges of the third millennium.
