Founded in 1970, the Lycée Français d’Irlande (“LFI”) offers a comprehensive education to children from Kindergarten through primary and secondary school based on the French curriculum and taught through French.
The school operates under the auspices of the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs and is run in conjunction with the AEFE (Agency for the Teaching of French Abroad). Historically the school was run to provide an education to French expatriates abroad. However, French government policy has evolved to promote more integration with the educational establishments of the host country and the provision of instruction through several languages.
From its humble beginnings in a small building in Dun Laoghaire, to its current two-site, 500-pupil school, the LFI is now a proud partner with St Kilian’s German School in the Eurocampus: a bi-lingual educational programme from 1st to 3rd year of the secondary school.
The kindergarten and primary school is located in Foxrock, Dublin 18, while the secondary school Eurocampus is located in Clonskeagh, Dublin 14.
