This February as part of the Dublin/Madrid exchange project, the 2nd year LFI Spanish students had the pleasure of welcoming their counterparts from the Institut Torrente Ballester de Parla in Madrid for a week of sharing culture and language.
Our students showed them the LFI and took them around some of the best-known monuments in the city of Dublin. There were visits to the National Museum of Archaeology and History and to the Epic Museum and, to finish the week, an immersion in Irish culture through an Irish dancing class followed by refreshments and a disco, before the students and their counterparts spent the weekend with their families.
Thank you to all the families for their wonderful welcome.
The Spaniards went home delighted with their stay! There were certainly bonds formed.
The second part of the exchange will take place shortly: the 2nd years will be able to taste Spanish culture in March – not long now!
A big thank you to three of our girls from 6th class: Victorine Tâm, Marie-Sarah Paradisi Coulouma and Justine Nappez who generously accepted to join the Irish dancing class given on 8th February.
They dazzled us with the grace and lightness of their demonstration and were a great help showing us the steps for the group dances.
Everyone appreciated this moment of good humour and sharing.
